Hastings-Sunrise & Grandview-Woodland

As two of Vancouver’s oldest neighbourhoods, Hastings–Sunrise and Grandview-Woodland offer a vibrant mix of commercial, industrial, recreational and residential spaces. The northern ends of both neighbourhoods meet the shores of the Burrard Inlet and provide you with a stunning backdrop of mountains and ocean views. The juxtaposition of industrial structures against the majesty of these mountains makes this neighbourhood feel unique. Nestled between the warehouses and factories are a number of hidden breweries, shops, artist studios, parks and eateries. Best explored by bike, start your day off with a pre adventure breakfast and end it with a beer on the beach and soak up the sky as it turns from blue to pink to black behind the North Shore mountain ranges.

The Hobo brothers make some of the most beautiful wood pieces in town. Their motto, “Made from the heart by hand,” is a true representation of their work and dedication to the craft. They work out of a really cool studio space in East Van’s port district. If you’re lucky enough to pass by while their garage doors are open, they’ll probably give you a tour.
