The namesake of the neighborhood, this 55-acre park sits on land donated to the city by Coca-Cola magnate Asa Candler in 1922. It features a football or soccer field, basketball and tennis courts, a playground, and a 9-hole golf course on the North side of the park (see the Candler Park Golf Course entry for more on that). The park hosts a few fantastic festivals each year, plus movie nights in the summer. The 2006 effort to naturalize the creek beds that run through the park and golf course has brought beavers, hawks, raccoons, and other wildlife back, sometimes visible while walking the park.
