Located about three miles east of downtown, Edgewood is bordered by Kirkwood to the east, Reynoldstown to the west, Candler Park to the north, and East Atlanta to the south. The community was developed around the turn of the 20th century as a response to economic boom, population growth, and a dramatic increase in the number of people working in the city. Located outside of the congestion downtown, Edgewood was geared towards blue collar workers that developed the land and built their craftsman-style homes there.
