In a city where "y'all" is used more than "you guys," The Australian Bakery Cafe is welcoming "mates" near and far to try their Australian cuisine. Italian, Asian and Mexican food are all quite common to find in any area, but it's very rare that you'll find Australian food in your neighborhood. In 1991, The Australian Bakery Cafe opened their doors on the Marietta Square, offering a large selection of dinky-di authentic Aussie food in the USA. If you only have a chance to try one thing, be sure to try one of their authentic Australian meat pies. Each pie is made from scratch and loaded with fresh meats, cheeses and veggies, all in a flaky pie crust and baked to perfection. The worst part about ordering a meat pie is picking which one you want; these guys are serving over 25 different pies, rolls and pasties! Not a fan of meat-filled pastries? This place will satisfy even the biggest sweet tooth. Treat yourself by trying some of Sydney's favorite desserts including lamingtons, which are sponge cakes dipped in chocolate and covered in coconut, and ANZACs, a coconut cookie that became popular during WWI. The Australian Bakery Cafe is well aware of its authenticity, which is why they not only sell most of their products online (which can be delivered anywhere in the USA), but they also carry groceries from Downunder. You can purchase Australian candy, spreads and drinks from this cafe to take home. Australia, we thank you for letting The Australian Bakery Cafe come live on the Marietta Square. As long as they keep baking their Australian delicacies, we're never letting them leave!
