Cherrywood

Just east of the University of Texas campus sits the Cherrywood neighborhood, where life-long Austinites mingle with the city’s growing creative class and enjoy a laid back vibe where all the best things are local. The community is as tight-knit as it is diverse and is home to a collection of places that bring people together. It is what Austin does best, at its most authentic. This shaded neighborhood of homes, cafes, bars, shops, and restaurants, owned and frequented by locals, features the kind of places that cultivate ‘regulars’ and are described by newcomers in highest praise as ‘so Austin.’

Harold Marmulstein’s Manor Road gastro pub strikes the perfect balance between fancy and casual. Typical to Austin, restaurant goers can be seen in flip flops and jeans or dressed up for a night on the town. Pair any one of their palate bombs with a local beer, vintage wine or signature cocktail. Their dinner menu is a one-sheet of hard choices including a flawlessly cured pastrami salmon, a buttery blackened redfish and a bone-in filet that could make a vegan salivate. For the ultra-causal patron, they also have an unreal happy hour featuring $2 off most drinks, and $5 tacos and shared plates that include pork belly tacos, truffled deviled eggs, and duck fat fries.
