For wine lovers (but not only), a wine tasting at the Vinitaly Pavilion is a necessary stop-off. Designed by [Italo Rota](http://exhibit-ir.tumblr.com/), this is a [curious blend of tradition and innovation](http://www.expo2015.org/en/news/behold-the-wine-pavilion-at-expo-milano-2015) bringing to life a multi-sensory experience that is one of a kind. A “winecard”, a glass of wine (with its own “viola-Vinitaly” bag to hang round your neck), a tasting of 3 wines (chosen from the more than 1,400 available and present in rotation, a list of which can be consulted on the App Vino [Vinitaly Club](https://itunes.apple.com/it/app/vinitaly/id507269919?mt=8)). All for 10 Euro. The setting is extremely simple, straightforward and brightly-lit. The wines are subdivided according to geographical provenance, winemaker or association area, and are tidily arranged in transparent display cases. Visitors, armed with glass and card, find a product that arouses their curiosity. They bring their card up to the reader and a small screen displays a description of the product. If it convinces them, they bring the glass up to the dispenser and…hey presto, the taster is served! For more demanding palates, not totally satisfied by a tasting experience mediated by technology that is innovative, fun, but perhaps a little cold, the perfect solution is to place your trust in the team of sommeliers who roam around the rooms: smart and skilled, courteous and helpful, they offer precious advice making it possible for novice tasters to discover delightful small wine-makers. An interactive system that allows self-service from among 1,400 bottles. The teams of sommeliers who courteously help everyone to extricate themselves from the muddle and enjoy the best. When the most sophisticated technology is added to the human element, perfection is achieved!
