Alcântara

Alcântara is a civil parish of the city and municipality of Lisbon. Its name is derived from the Arabic (القنطارة), meaning the bridge. Ponte 25 de Abril bridge leaves land to soar over the Tagus. The bridge is the sister to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, USA. On the other side of the highway and train tracks is the rest of this neighborhood, with residential blocks surrounding the new LX Factory. A little further away is Alto de Santo Amaro, one of the most beautiful residential areas of Lisbon, with friendly streets and sites easy to discover.

Quiosque da Rocha - Os Primos

The café sits in between a busy main road, trains going by, and the river Tejo. It creates a feeling transportation into an episode of The Wire season 2 set on the Baltimore Docks. The super sweet owner will tell you that the place has been around for 30 years. The morning clientele will claim that it's been their local hangout for 38-40 years. The reason must be the superb cheap espresso and the genuinely good vibes! The opening times are easy - everyday from 6.30am to 6.30pm - closed on Sundays.
