In northwest London at one of its highest points, Hampstead Heath contains the largest area of common land in the capital. Here you can escape the Big Smoke and enjoy fantastic walks, picnics, swimming, tennis, running and kite flying, as well as the great pubs, restaurants, shops and architecture of the surrounding areas. These areas range from the slightly scrappy Archway (where we’re based hence our bias towards the East side of the Heath), to the very well-to-do climes of Hampstead - whose former residents include George Orwell, Piet Mondrian, Sigmund Freud, Aldous Huxley, John Keats and Henry Moore - and everything in between. The owners of this very wonderful establishment have done an amazing job of creating a fantastic local pub that attracts an eclectic mix of both original regulars from its former guise and new visitors. All the ales and ciders stocked here (18 handpulls in total) are from small independent UK breweries. You can accompany your pint with a choice of tasty meats, we recommend the warm pork bap with apple sauce. Vinyl is played from behind the bar, with excellent live music provided on Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday nights. Quiz night is Monday and take note, it’s a cash only bar.
