If you’re an eastsider, Atwater Village is where you move if you want to feel a little bit grown up, but aren’t quite ready to be Eagle Rock grown up. Once no more than poppy fields, this lesser known, little-brother neighborhood is on the rise. Compete with other “creatives” to get a “I can’t believe we actually got it” house before Forbes gets word about all the cool stuff happening here and ruins everything. But seriously, this place is as diverse as it is welcoming. Quiet, tree-lined streets? Check. Surplus of locals-heavy happy hours and vibrant weekend energy? Yep. New bars, cafes and interesting shops opening on the regs? All the time. That elusive ‘community feel’? In spades. It's the perfect LA neighborhood for discovery...and also brunch.
Falafel even your snobby NY friends will love.
Started by two sisters, one of whom was a former buyer for Therapy, Common boasts quality women’s clothing without the LA prices. Favorite place of the Brains on Fire LA gals. Easy to wear, comfortable, cute clothes without losing any quality. You’ll want to walk through the racks and touch everything. They get a new shipment every week -- you'll be tempted to literally shop incessantly as the floor is constantly changing.
