Fairfax District

An oddly undefined area of Los Angeles that gained popularity in recent years for it's eclectic nature on Melrose, to fine furniture on Beverly. Historically home to mostly Orthodox Jews, it's now a great mix of what was with fresh faces and fantastic food. Including the Farmer's Market (a true gem) and the newer grove, plus numerous shops, restaurant, and bars, the Fairfax district has a ton to offer in terms of "real" LA.

Sure, you could join for the white-hair special at 5pm, but this place shines late night after some drinking in Hollywood. Grab a matzoh ball soup, or pastrami sandwich and try to spot some aspiring or washed-up celebs. Then grab a road rugalach on your way out. Open 24 hours!
