Originally designed with Venice, Italy as its inspiration this unconventional seaside neighborhood thrives on a unique collision of trendiness and counter-culture street cred. From posh boutiques to quaint canals, from street performers to wayward artists - Venice continues to prefer the spectacle to the expected.
When Garrett Leight discovered 2-decade-old Oliver Peoples eyeglass frames in a retired preppy style in his mother Cindy's garage, it was just the motivation he needed to open his own biz. The son of Oliver Peoples founder, Garret opened A. Kinney Court in Venice to draw on a cache of dead-stock Peoples eyeglasses that had been squirreled away in storage units, including a one-off sculptural pair made in 1987 for Andy Warhol. Today, the shop sells frames from other designers, as well as locally made shoes and apparel.
