First there were cupcakes, then there were doughnuts, and then along came the buttery, flaky biscuit. Early Bird was the first to jump on a trend—if you can call something a trend that’s been as everlastingly popular as a Southern biscuit. They envisioned a place where biscuits were perfected and riffed on, and where people could get a morning fix that wasn’t (necessarily) all sugary. The result was so popular that they’ve since had to move to bigger digs. Get a cheddar and pepper version or just stick with the classic, but don’t underestimate how much a biscuit slathered with butter and Agriberry jam can fill you up.
