Perched atop a steep hill at the southern edge of the city, Bernal Heights is a last frontier for artists and progressives. Nestled between earthquake cottages and bungalows you’ll find picturesque parks, quaint shops, and most importantly, a sense of community long forgotten in San Francisco. Along with its little sister La Lengua to the west, our neighborhood is unapologetically unique.
Throw a frisbee and a blanket in your bag, and make an afternoon of it.
Precita Park is a long, sunny strip of land nestled in the north side of Bernal. Divided into two sections, it has a playground for the kids on one end, and a large area for friends and families to hang out on the other. A natural market on the corner is perfect for grabbing snacks and a bottle of wine, or you can always visit the Precita Park Café at the end of the day for a satisfying dinner.
