Buttermilk is the place to go when you miss some classic American food. Located on the ground floor of Amba Zhongshan hotel, the bright tiled wall and large windows offer a charming view of tree-lined Zhongshan North Road. The open kitchen allow customers to observe how every dish is cooked behind the counter. One of the best-selling meals is "Grandma’s Buttermilk Boneless Fried Chicken"; the chicken is marinated with buttermilk and spices overnight. Then it's dipped in batter and fried, to achieve a crispy taste. The tender meat and crispy skin is a perfect combination. Other favorite dishes include fire grilled "Beef Ribeye Steak", served along with bitter sweet rocket leaf and grilled garlic, mediterranean inspired salad with grilled figs, quinoa, feta cheese. Save some room for their amazing desserts: the homemade buttermilk biscuits, fresh lemon pie, and classic blueberry lattice pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream can never go wrong.
