Queen West

As the cartographical baseline for the east-west avenues of Toronto's original grid pattern, Queen Street's long history mixes eclectically with its newer developments. Being a long, linear, and somewhat amorphous neighbourhood, Queen West boasts a vibrant mix of longtime residents, visitors, and new arrivals. There's certainly lots to love about Queen West: past, present, and future.

The Queen West Cafe Neon is an all-day affair. It's more focused on espresso, fresh juice, and simple but delicious eats than late night drinks like their Bloor Street counterpart. Don't let the small storefront fool you, however, there's plenty of space in the dining room at the back to spread out with a laptop and stay for a while. Thumbs up: house-made lemonade & quiche Lorraine. Thumbs down: "Devil's Nectar" (Coke + espresso).
