Hastings-Sunrise & Grandview-Woodland

As two of Vancouver’s oldest neighbourhoods, Hastings–Sunrise and Grandview-Woodland offer a vibrant mix of commercial, industrial, recreational and residential spaces. The northern ends of both neighbourhoods meet the shores of the Burrard Inlet and provide you with a stunning backdrop of mountains and ocean views. The juxtaposition of industrial structures against the majesty of these mountains makes this neighbourhood feel unique. Nestled between the warehouses and factories are a number of hidden breweries, shops, artist studios, parks and eateries. Best explored by bike, start your day off with a pre adventure breakfast and end it with a beer on the beach and soak up the sky as it turns from blue to pink to black behind the North Shore mountain ranges.

Featuring small-batch craft spirits made with locally sourced ingredients, Odd Society is a local craft distillery nestled in the Port District of East Vancouver. The space is beautiful to say the least. And then there are the cocktails, which are second to none—you can actually taste the devotion to their craft in every sip. They also offer tasting flights so you can taste all their spirits before committing to a cocktail. If you’re into design, the branding is also bang-on. The vodka packaging in particular is one of my favs.
