Part of the Souk El Tayeb organization that promotes Lebanon’s local farmers and producers, Tawlet is a charming space and eatery located in a quiet street just off Mar Mikhael. In the spirit of the country’s famous “Souk”, there is no set menu; only a variety of daily Lebanese and Middle Eastern dishes prepared by farmers, cook, and mothers all over the country. Set up as a community space, Tawlet has adopted a concept of open tables and chairs, to be shared amongst anyone who stays for a bite; as well as hosts and enables a number of locally made products on their very many shelves. Lastly, Tawlet utilizes every area of its four walls to also showcase an artist's’ exhibition every month, in support of local artists of the region.
