Vanina was created in Beirut in 2007, by childhood friends Tatiana Fayad and Joanne Hayek. The unconventional business model of the brand, which started as a hobby in the girls’ bedrooms, has grown into becoming an internationally distributed label, present today in five continents. Vanina is at first look, a fashion brand, with a stunning array of dresses, bags and crafted jewelry. However, its beauty behind the scenes is that Vanina also acts as a tool for social and environmental change; using sustainable materials to promote local craftsmanship and industries. It is a social project, bridging the glamorous and the conceptual. It is an elegant machine producing creative, conscientious and innovative pieces, manufactured using everyday items from matches and frills to things as simple as coins and chains; all encompassed in some of the most delicious textures and fabrics.
