Once a center of record-setting shipbuilding, Eastie was created by the joining of five islands (Noddle, Hog, Governor’s, Bird, and Apple) during World War II. The nods to the woodworking shop are felt throughout the building, from a weathered wood exterior to the 1947 Delta table saw that’s been repurposed as a host stand. The letters from the sign for Oscar’s will hang in the building’s lobby, and the shelving behind the 9-seat bar is styled to look like the shelves in a woodshop.
The bar also features local craft beers and craft cocktails. A second bar is also located on the fourth-floor roof deck, which has additional seating and offers a limited bar menu. A full menu is offered in the main restaurant, with Chef Anthony Pino having grown up in Eastie as well. A great spot for dinner, drinks, or brunch; the menu has versions of comfort foods influenced by elements of the diverse immigrant groups that have called the neighborhood home.
