The Well is a shrine to the act of producing and enjoying beer. When you walk in, you’re struck right away by the sheer expanse of the space and then you notice the crazy long row of taps (60) featuring some fantastic drafts from near and far. Take a step through the back doors and you’re in their huge backyard where parties are plentiful in the summer. But the most impressive thing about this behemoth is that it exists within the historic Huber-Hittleman Brewery complex, built in 1866. The massive concrete columns highlight the bar, which—during the brewery days—was used as an ice storage facility. Complete with underground lagering caves, this building marked the terminus of Brewer’s Row, a street that at one time had twelve breweries on twelve square blocks. So enjoy your Pilsner or Weisse in a beer hall with some serious brewing history in it’s bones. The Well also features a back room which is used for weekly events and is available to book for private parties.
