Kinzie Corridor

While officially designated the “Kinzie Industrial Corridor,” this swath of land extending west from Fulton Market is home to far more than industry and distribution. A broad range of businesses, artisans, craftspeople and educators call the neighborhood home, drawn by ample loft space, some spectacular food spots, and a bit of glorious parkland.

Located just off the Ashland Green Line stop, Union Park is most known as the home to Pitchfork Music Festival. Each year over forty bands take the stage over the course of three days while music-goers can enjoy food and drinks from some of Chicago’s local favorites. The park also hosts a number of other musical festivals throughout the year including North Coast Music Festival and Aahh! Fest. When the park isn’t being transformed for audible enjoyment, it’s busy being used to enjoy the best of Chicago’s summers. The park totals 13.46 acres and features a fieldhouse which houses a gymnasium and fitness center. Outside, the park offers tennis and basketball courts, a swimming pool, playground and athletic fields for football, soccer and baseball.
