Al Quoz

Like many art districts in the world, Al Quoz used to be primarily an industrial neighborhood, dominated by warehouses and factories. The area is now a trendy go-to spot for artists and designers, sparked by Al Serkal Avenue which houses several of the most prominent art galleries in Dubai. Design and architecture studios, pop-up shops, and co-working spaces occupy the converted buildings, which contrast strongly with the city's otherwise future-inspired architecture. A must-see for anyone looking to peek into the emerging art and design scene of the Middle East.

If you're looking for a space that checks every box, this is it. Get work done in the quiet library nook upstairs, grab a healthy bite from the Appetite cafe downstairs, watch a movie screening at Cinema Akil in the back, or browse the collections on display in the pop-up space. Anything is possible here, so don't be surprised if a live music performance erupts suddenly or if you accidentally end up being filmed for an Apple commercial (both have happened to me!)
