Al Quoz

Like many art districts in the world, Al Quoz used to be primarily an industrial neighborhood, dominated by warehouses and factories. The area is now a trendy go-to spot for artists and designers, sparked by Al Serkal Avenue which houses several of the most prominent art galleries in Dubai. Design and architecture studios, pop-up shops, and co-working spaces occupy the converted buildings, which contrast strongly with the city's otherwise future-inspired architecture. A must-see for anyone looking to peek into the emerging art and design scene of the Middle East.

Tucked into a charming corner of the Dubai Garden Centre is The Movement, an independent bicycle shop promoting sustainability and healthy living. Here you'll find a range of beautiful urban bicycles and accessories for both adults and children- and if you're lucky enough, you'll bump into Rooman and Julie, the lovely couple behind the whole thing. In case you needed a reason to stop driving in Dubai, The Movement is it.
