Perfectly located by the seaside, Portobello has many fish and chip shops. St Andrew’s Fish and Chip Shop has been in this location for over 100 years, which proves that it’s not just a hit with the locals. It has also won numerous ‘Best Chippy’ Awards, which isn’t surprising given that their fish has usually been caught just hours before it’s thrown in the fryer.
The shop boasts a large takeaway area as well as a modern restaurant space for diners to sit in and enjoy their meal. They cater for all tastes - battered fish, sausage and chips, kebabs, burgers, sausages, scampi, and special dietary requirements. Gluten-free batter is available as well as ceoliac-friendly pasta and pizzas. The fish and chips are best enjoyed after a day on the beach, with a cold brew from Beer Zoo in hand.
