Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt offers up an unusual concept: On show are great artists alongside heretofore undiscovered talents, an entire spectrum from the modern period/modernism to contemporary art. There is something for everyone, for the old and the young – classically arranged or made accessible through an event series. On show are usually two exhibitions with current relevance, primed to stimulate conversation. The ‘Schirn’ is an institution, yet one with a progressive understanding of itself.
