The East End is where Houston was born, where her original immigrants settled, where her industry planted roots, and where babies boomed. Today it’s filled with people way cooler than you and places you’ve likely never been, and we like it that way: just the way it is, so stay the hell away.
Pick a Sunday, grab some people you like alright enough, and bebop down the Navigation esplanade from 10AM-2PM for local food growers, food trucks/stalls, artists, performers, etc. Extra points if you ride your bike. Extra extra points if you buy a lot of stuff and make sure that the vendors keep having a reason to come back every Sunday.
