Westside

Just a few blocks west of the Crossroads, is an eclectic little neighborhood called the Westside. It’s small in size, but overflowing with charm and Latin flare. It’s easily one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the city with it’s mixed architecture styles and local artists leaving their touches everywhere. The Westside is now a destination for amazing local foods, oven fired breads, sweet treats and unexpected gifts. Make sure to walk around and find the hidden treasures that make the Westside, one of a kind.

If you love bread and cheese and amazing smells, you need to stop at Fervere. It’s a tiny place with a wood fired oven that makes artisanal breads that sell out almost immediately, each of the 3 days a week they are open. You need to get there early so you can try them all, especially the Olive Rosemary, Orchard and Ciabatta…and the Sprouted Quinoa…and the Rye Cookies…yummm. On Saturdays in the spring and summer, they partner with local chefs using seasonal local ingredients to make Cheese Slippers. What are Cheese Slippers you ask, well, they are almost like a pizza, but not a pizza, they are just drool-worthy cheesy bready oozy goodness, that is 100% worth standing in an hour long line to taste. You should order more than one, and one of them should be the egg one. Trust me. Also, get there early, the line will be long and they will sell out.
