Bethnal Green

Situated at the East of Shoreditch, Bethnal Green is a very multicultural neighbourhood where young professionals, Bangladeshi families and English working-class live together. It still has this very unpolished and rough flavour of the East End. Without being considered as trendy and often underrated, Bethnal Green keeps a very unpretentious, authentic and friendly atmosphere, while offering many quality pubs, bars, cafés and restaurants.

Founded in 1872, this museum is entirely dedicated to the wonders of childhood. Toys you might remember from your own childhood, and toys your parents might remember from theirs are all exhibited in this museum. It is a nostalgic throw back to your youth! For the designers, it's really interesting to observe all the old toy packagings. The collection is set up in a beautiful building with open space and a glass roof. You don't have to be a child to enjoy it but if you are, you definitely will. There is ample playing space for the little ones and (as always) there's a nice café to enjoy a drink and a snack. The museum is completely free so it's definitely worth a little visit if you are around.
