With the City of London just a stone’s throw away and Shoreditch on the doorstep, Whitechapel is still diverse enough to keep things interesting. There’s a lot on offer with a good mix of newcomers and a solid selection of well established neighbourhood staples to choose from. From the famous Indian restaurants to the local art scene, and everything in-between, there’s a lot to discover in this edgy and unrefined part of town.
With so many Indian restaurants in Whitechapel it’s sometimes difficult to separate the good from the bad. Needoo ticks the good box and serves up some pretty amazing Punjabi dishes. It’s bring your own bottle too, with a decent off-licence nearby to cater for your booze needs. Try the mixed grill which comes on a hot sizzler (the lamb chops get the thumbs up). Alternatively there’s plenty to choose from including: Biryanis, Haleem, Nihari, Curries, Kebabs & Tikkas.
