With the City of London just a stone’s throw away and Shoreditch on the doorstep, Whitechapel is still diverse enough to keep things interesting. There’s a lot on offer with a good mix of newcomers and a solid selection of well established neighbourhood staples to choose from. From the famous Indian restaurants to the local art scene, and everything in-between, there’s a lot to discover in this edgy and unrefined part of town.
A nod to the area’s trade history, the fit out of wood, copper and brick feels modern but comfortable, and surprisingly spacious. Most importantly, the food and coffee is delicious. Ethically sourced and freshly made, both menu and deli items have that home made feel (that actually you couldn’t do at home). Lobster roll is a must.
