Salamanca

Madrid has many hearts, and Salamanca is one of them. No to mistake with the city of the same name, beloved by worldwide students. Once renowned as a posh and conservative neighbourhood, it is still in a way, but waaaaay cooler, greener and open-minded than 10 years ago. Here stands Calle Castelló, the unofficial 'design' street of the city, where you will find design shops, design studios, furniture shops, audiovisual studios and the biggest park in town. If we go for stereotypes, we could say that this is where Bobo's install themselves after geting rid of Chueca/Malasaña... and shopping addicts of course.

Churrería Fersan

Address
5 Calle de Castelló

As we say in Spain, "of all the life" (de toda la vida). There are a few survivors to capitalization in town, and this mini churro spot is one of them. This man wakes up everyday at 4 a.m. in order to serve the freshest churros to surrounding restaurants and coffees for a traditional breakfast, in the "castizo" way. If you're not a sweet tooth, you can always go for his homemade patatas fritas on the go (chips).
