You can never have too many good options, especially when it comes to beer and wine, and the odd spirit in between. Enter Blackhearts & Sparrows. There's a few Blackhearts & Sparrows in Melbourne, the Smith St branch being the latest. It's an incredibly beautifully designed store, with wrought iron and natural materials. So beautifully and tastefully done, their selection of drinks matches the decor just as well. If you're like me – you like good wine, but you know next to nothing about it (let alone choosing it) then this is the kind of place for you. I enter, ask for a recommendation and walk out with an amazing bottle of wine. No attitude, no pretense, no expectations on previous knowledge – just kind, helpful and very knowledgeable service.
