Linden Hills

Linden Hills is treasure trove of “quaintness” nestled within the lakes of Southwest Minneapolis. It was built along the Como-Harriet streetcar line in the 1920’s and it’s charm still brings people from across the city to shop local storefronts, dine at warm restaurants, bike around the lake and catch live music at the bandshell. Crafstman homes on tree-lined streets lead everywhere from the farmers market to the ice-cream shop. It’s walkable, lovable and very Instagramable.

Far before I lived in Linden Hills, over 20 years ago my mom would drive me across town just to visit Wild Rumpus, the "animal bookshop". It’s as magical now as it was to my child’s mind, then. Its a wonderland of curiosity and learning, where the outdoors comes indoors, with animals wandering the aisles along side you. Whether you join through the 4ft kids entrance or the standard adult doorframe, there is always something to find and crowds of little kids roaming for their next adventure in a book. A class act if there ever was one.
