When Peace Coffee opened a few years ago in the Longfellow neighborhood, it provided a super-accessible and much needed space for conversation, community gathering, and a great cup of organic, fair-trade coffee. The space has a laid back nouveau-hippie vibe and plenty of assorted seating along the mural-covered outer walls and a huge table made from a beautiful lacquered cross-section of a tree. There is also a bright education room where patrons can gather for coffee classes or local meet-ups. Peace Coffee headquarters is just a mile or so away, making new batch delivery a breeze -- as cyclists deliver new shipments by bike rather than by car.
