Located just a few miles south of downtown Nashville, and often referred to as ‘WeHo’ for short, Wedgewood-Houston is a small, urban neighborhood that houses several of Nashville’s most well-known creative businesses. Whether you’re searching for a nice place to have a picnic or want to learn a bit about Nashville’s Civil War history, Fort Negley can be a solution for both desires. Dating back to 1862, Fort Negley served as a confederate base/lookout point. Fixed atop a hill, the park yields several scenic views of downtown and surrounding areas. There are several picnic tables scattered about the walking paths that provide a convenient place to hang out on a nice day.
