Located just a few miles northeast of Center City, the former epicenter of the city’s shad fishing industry is now a burgeoning and ever-evolving neighborhood, home to multi-generations and curious, young newcomers. Replete with a lively (and more importantly, walkable/bikeable) bar and restaurant scene and peppered with quaint and quiet side streets, Fishtown is pretty much the best of all and old worlds.
Johnny Brenda’s is one of our favorite Fishtown haunts. Its super low-key climate lends itself perfectly to throwing some back with your buddies after work, chowing down on their killer burger, shooting a game of pool or catching your favorite band play their intimate upstairs venue.
