Located just a few miles northeast of Center City, the former epicenter of the city’s shad fishing industry is now a burgeoning and ever-evolving neighborhood, home to multi-generations and curious, young newcomers. Replete with a lively (and more importantly, walkable/bikeable) bar and restaurant scene and peppered with quaint and quiet side streets, Fishtown is pretty much the best of all and old worlds.
This is one of our favorite spots in Fishtown for a modern twist on classic comfort food. Come here with your laptop for a working-lunch, or just head over for a proper meal. Just know that you can’t leave without trying the tomato basil soup, which is so good, they should offer up by the trough!
