North Side

The North Side is an unsuspecting treasure trove of activities & places you never knew existed. If you're seeking that so-called "local” culture, look no further. The North Side area is home to some of the richest historical and cultural components of the Burgh. With well-preserved buildings dating back to the 1700's, the Mexican War Streets, Heinz Field, PNC Park, Deutschtown and at least a day's worth of museum hopping between the Warhol, Mattress Factory and others, the North Side is the perfect sightseeing destination for newcomers and residents alike.

Northside's answer to "underground music scene," Banjo Night is a weekly gathering of the Pittsburgh Banjo Club. The experience is refreshingly dated. Older-and-Younger generations alike can expect to find a retro-Americana charm while enjoying $1.50 Yuenglings. It's open to the public and about as local as you can get.
