Long Island City

There's no question that Long Island City (LIC for those in the know...) is the cultural center of this incredibly vibrant borough. Only minutes away from midtown Manhattan, LIC boasts many fantastic museums, parks, restaurants, and an amazing array of affordable boutique hotels. Anyone with an eye for design should keep LIC at the top of their places to visit list, especially for those wanting something slightly "off" the grid.

Located directly behind LIC's iconic Pepsi-Cola sign, Shi offers a sophisticated and modern take on Japanese sushi and other asian delicacies. Housed in a modern new steel and glass high-rise the Hunters Point section of Long Island City, the mood is softened by a welcoming long hallway leading to a beautiful old wooden door. Once inside, you can sprawl out on the lounge- couches as you await your table in the grand dining area, or out in the lush garden.
