Located in Toronto’s west end, this neighborhood has an equal combination of charm and grit. Artists, new immigrants, and young families all call Parkdale home, and its local businesses cater to a diverse crowd with eclectic interests. You’ll find vintage clothing shops, Tibetan restaurants, bespoke furniture designers and vinyl record stores, all on the same city block... some of which have been around for decades, and others that have popped up overnight. The architecture in the area is equally varied, with a mix of original Victorian mansions, commercial storefronts and high-rise apartment buildings.

When it first opened, the line-up was three hours long to get a table. Five years later, Grand Electric has become a Parkdale institution. It's a casual place to eat tacos and listen to hip-hop, with delicious food and zippy cocktails. Also check out its sister restaurant, Electric Mud BBQ, nearby on Brock Ave.
