Barracks Row & Eastern Market

Barracks Row, a small neighborhood to the southeast of Capitol Hill, has a history as old as the city itself. It was the first commercial area in the District and was built around the Marine Barracks, which it was named after. Within just the past few years there has been a significant restoration movement in Barracks Row, drawing the presence of entrepreneurs, artisans, and small businesses.

The second restaurant endeavor of acclaimed chef/owner Aaron Silverman has made a big splash on the national food scene, being awarded two Michelin stars shortly after opening. If you're lucky enough to snag a table for the all-inclusive evening service, you'll be spoiled by the 8-10 course prix fix that's as inventive as it is delicious — but definitely at a price reserved for special occasions.

Book reservations well in advance, or keep an eye on @lastminutedinnerplans on Instagram for day-of openings. For a more low-key taste of the Pineapple and Pearls experience, reservations are also available for the Patio, with a menu of light snacks and cocktails.
