BLAST FROM THE PAST! The Burnet Road corridor has a lot to offer, most evident are its preserved historic cultural roots and diverse community that reflects the days of yore—1950s all the way up to modern times. It is known for it’s classic blast from the past look and feel. You could spend all day exploring the unique Vintage shops, Old School Diners and Burger Joints, as well as ogling the neon, painted, and carved signage. The funny thing is, there are Burnet road followings. A quick search will reveal how important this road is to Austin’s culture: Burnetroad.net. The version of Burnet road we have curated encompases spiffy spots close to: Allandale, Brentwood, Crestview, and North Shoal Creek south of where burnet meets 183 hwy. P.S. Locals pronounce the street Burnit, not Burnette.
El Chilito is an East Austin taquería boasting a delicious selection of Tex-Mex & interior Mexican tacos along with a full espresso bar, and a whole lot of local charm.
