Bay Ridge

Bay Ridge gets it’s unique character from the locals that give it friendly but no-nonsense charm, and it’s color from working class immigrants that breath life to this sprawling neighborhood. In recent years younger design-centric folks like us who are moving into the neighborhood are giving it new dimension. Whether you want to picnic on the grass of owl head’s park with your falafel sandwich or you’re planning to cook a feast of exotic asian delicacies at our large Chinese Markets, you’ll find what you need, with some surprises along the way.

John Paul Jones Park is an oddly shaped park named after a Revolutionary War Patriot that is a perfect place to view the narrows of the Verrazano Bridge in all it’s splendor. The park itself has a few unique features like a gazebo and a large masonic tower to commemorate the US Navy service in WWI—but it gets its nickname “Cannonball Park” from the huge cannon and cannonballs obelisk to commemorate the Battle of Brooklyn.
