Lincoln Square

Lincoln Square is like being in a small town within the city. It's a blend of people from all cultures, ages and walks of life. A pedestrian-friendly strip brings a great mix of casual eateries and upscale restaurants, European-style cafes, independent stores and fun things to do like touring Half Acre Brewery, catching a new release at Davis Theater or laying on a blanket in Welles Park. We love it for its chill vibe, tree-lined streets and plenty of things to see, do, taste and try. Here are some of our favorites.

There's a few coffee shops in Lincoln Square—The Grind being a favorite—but the newest to the caffeine scene is Oromo Cafe. What makes them different is that they're nutty about milk, literally. They make a lineup of house-made nut milks, free of artificial sugars and blended with "superfoods". The proprietary milks, made daily, start with the raw base nut—pistachio, pecan, almond or hazelnut. After a good night's soak in filtered water, the nuts are blended, then meticulously strained before adding a touch of vanilla and raw organic coconut sugar. They're served straight or with added spices, herbs and fruits. Some interesting concoctions are made from this like the maple maca, pecan latte and an espresso flavored with pistachio milk and rose. Their pastries and cakes are also not to miss.
