Christianshavn

Just across a bridge from the city center and sitting directly across from parliament is the island of Christianshavn, founded by one of Denmark’s best known Kings ‘Christian IV’ in 1619. Walk along it’s narrow cobbled streets, enjoy a cold beer by the canals or eat some of the greatest food you’ll find in Copenhagen – Christianhavn has it all.

Bådudlejliningen is one of our favourite cafés Christianshavn. It is located literally in the canals by the water, you can get a good cup of coffee or a ‘smørrebrød’ for lunch. Rent a boat in the summertime and row through the canals. In November and December, you can also get your Christmas fix here. Get a hot cup of glögg, get warm by the fireplace while watching Santa’s train run in the ceiling. You can of course also buy your Christmas tree here.
