Christianshavn

Just across a bridge from the city center and sitting directly across from parliament is the island of Christianshavn, founded by one of Denmark’s best known Kings ‘Christian IV’ in 1619. Walk along it’s narrow cobbled streets, enjoy a cold beer by the canals or eat some of the greatest food you’ll find in Copenhagen – Christianhavn has it all.

Copenhagen’s famous bakery, Lagkagehuset, is a favourite for both locals and tourists. Grab a number at the counter and join the queue of hungry locals dying for a few of their freshly baked goodies. At the bakery, there are a few seats at the counter where you can enjoy a coffee and pastry and watch the action of Christianshavn canal. We always go for the 'Flødeboller' and 'Rye-Chocolate-buns'.
