City Park & East Colfax

Brimming with restaurants, bars, shops and music venues, City Park and East Colfax make up one of Denver's most culturally diverse areas. Centrally located just east of downtown Denver, City Park is home to the Denver Zoo and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Meanwhile, the historic neon signs that speckle East Colfax will guide you from one place to the next.

The Denver Zoo was the first zoo in the U.S. to create natural enclosures for its animals, starting with the Bear Mountain exhibit in 1918, which is now on the National Register of Historic Places. Today the zoo is home to over 600 species and averages over 1.6 million visitors a year. Most recently, the zoo celebrated the birth of Dobby the giraffe.
