Southside

Dublin’s south side is an increasingly good place to be as a creative, with a tight-knit design community that is incredibly welcoming. The streets are in a constant state of flux, with new restaurants and shops joining the classic historic charm that the city is steeped in. There’s nothing better than spending a Sunday wandering around the myriad of book stores before retiring to a cosy pub for the evening.

Established in 1978 and going strong ever since, the Gallery of Photography is the centre for contemporary photography in Ireland. Admission is free, and with a programme of some of the leading names in Irish and international photography in their exhibition space it is always worth a visit. Besides their excellently curated exhibitions they also have extensive production facilities for both digital and the darkroom while also running a range of training courses. To top it all off, the ground floor houses an incredible bookstore that stocks a myriad of photography and art books from Ireland and abroad.
