The little house sitting on the quay wall is the oldest and last harbour canteen. Build in the 20s, dockworkers came here to get their morning coffee or afternoon lunch. It had a moved history including a surge, which left the whole house on a crooked angle. This gives you a subtle sense of defying gravity once you enter. Inside you find a cozy environment with a bar, booths to sit in and slanted lamps (well, everything else is slanted). On the menu you find a selection of regional and seasonal dishes, also with several vegetarian options, all prepared inhouse. Fresh ingredients are a must, so they come from carefully selected local farmers with ecological farming. But even if you are not hungry, you can go by for a coffee, tea or drinks after a stroll through the Speicherstadt. The second floor is decorated more fancy and is available for reservations.
