Vedado is Havana's most varied neighborhood with it's biggest selection of nightlife, restaurants, architecture, and parks. Make sure you schedule some time outside of Havana Vieja to check it out.

Mercado Agropecuario 19 y B (Farmers' Market)

Locals call this the diplomats' farm stand for the higher-quality produce and elevated prices. Indeed, it is Havana’s version of whole foods, yet still a far far cry. But it's a nice place to grab a few fruits and veggies, and to see how locals shop. You’ll find more things in the AM than the PM. Depending on seasons, you'll find rare items like mint and other herbs, ripe tomatoes, and kiwis. Make sure to bargain, or they will take advantage of you. You can find other items like eggs, potatoes, shrimp, and fish from the guys hanging around outside.
